The Estimation of Carbon Stocks Above the Ground Vegetation on some Slope Classes in the Logged Over Areas IUPHHK PT. Indexim Utama Central Kalimantan

Universitas Palangka Raya Fakultas Pertanian Jurusan Kehutanan 2012 Azlanta Maydio Pratama Putra Abstract            Forest ecosystems play an important role in mitigating climate change, which varied topography affects the growth of vegetation. For instance in the area managed by PT. Indexim Utama Central Kalimantan has varied topography thus it is necessary to study the composition and structure of vegetation and potential carbon stocks stored.             The research was conducted in the area of ​​primary forest and 2 years logged over area with slope of 0 – 8 % and 15 – 25 %. The object being observed is vegetation level of trees, poles, saplings, seedlings and understorey with an area of ​​2,56 ha. The location determined by purposive sampling method and data retrieval with a single swath.            The results showed that species found are 44 species of plants and 23 species of understorey.
